Christ Church Vero Beach Storm Procedures
Hurricane season is June 1 - November 30.
When the Treasure Coast is affected by storms, Christ Church will implement the following policy:
TROPICAL STORM WATCH or WARNING
When Indian River County is under a Tropical Storm Watch or Warning, the Church Office will remain open.
Please be cautious when travelling during these conditions and only as necessary. If you are scheduled for a meeting or an event at Christ Church, please call ahead to be sure that the event has not been canceled or rescheduled.
When Tropical Storm force wind speeds are sustained at 39 mph, Indian River County closes all bridges, and all activities and services at Christ Church will be canceled during this time.
When Indian River County is under a Hurricane Watch of a named storm, the Church Office will remain open and most staff activity will be directed to preparing for the storm and securing our facilities.
Please be cautious if you must travel during this time. Most meetings and services will likely be canceled or postponed, so please confirm the status with your event leader in advance of travel.
When Indian River County is under a Hurricane Warning of a named storm, the office will be closed, and all church activities - including Worship Services - will be canceled.
The re-opening of the Church Office and scheduling for activities and worship services will be determined by the availability of power, safety factors, and the extent of any property damage. This information will be posted on our social media pages, phone message, and website as soon as it becomes available.
For additional information, please call the Church Office at 772.562.8670 or check for updates on our social media pages (@ChristChurchVB on Facebook and Twitter).
