Lenten Bible Study for Adults Starts Sunday Feb. 23
Fr. Keith will lead our Lenten Bible Study on Sunday mornings at 9 am in the Community Center beginning Feb. 23. The class will consider the significance of Jesus' final seven words spoken from the cross. As we understand and identify with His suffering, we will be challenged and transformed by His message to "pick up your cross and follow Me."
The course materials include a book and a study guide for $20. Scholarships are available upon request, so please don't let the cost keep you from participating in the class. All are welcome! Please contact Stephanie Toperzer in the Church Office at 772.562.8670 to place your order, or leave your request on a Connect Card.

Kids Sunday School in Lent Will Teach Them About Jesus

Our Children's Ministry provides weekly Sunday School for children ages 4 through 10 years, and nursery care for infants to 3 years. During Lent, our study will be on the "I Am" statements of Jesus. Kids will learn who Jesus is and why we can trust Him completely, based on the very important things He told us about who He is - God himself. All are welcome, and we encourage you to invite families with children, or perhaps your own grandchildren, to come and learn along with us. Shrove Tuesday Dinner - Feb. 25, 5:30 pm in the Community Center

Ash Wednesday Services - Feb. 26, Noon and 6 pm in the Church Nave

Great Litany Services - Feb. 27 - April 3, Noon Daily

New "Unity" Sunday Eucharist Worship Starts Feb. 23
Fr. Keith has announced the decision to combine our current Sunday worship services to promote congregational unity and fellowship. With the unanimous support of the Vestry, a new worship service is being designed that will emphasize the "three streams" of our Anglican faith: Scripture, Sacraments, and Spirit. Our focus will continue to be centered on the authority of Scripture and expressed through observing the time-honored sacraments while experiencing the power, freedom, and ministry of the Holy Spirit.
This new, Eucharist Worship will replace the Classic and Encounter formats, and will be offered on Sundays at 10:30 am beginning Feb. 23. This time change allows for an hour of discipleship opportunities to begin at 9 am for all ages, thus enabling those serving in the Choir, Band, and/or AV to be able to attend these classes and still have time to prepare for the worship service.

"Embrace the Journey" - Feb. 28 - April 24

Although Anglicans believe that life is sacred and God has a true and good design for each life, many people struggle when facing end of life issues. Christ Church is offering an adult education series, "Embrace the Journey," to help people understand and apply God's Word to the process of aging, dying, and related issues. Facilitated by Carol Pearson, the series includes a DVD teaching with workbook and discussion material. The series will be held on Fridays, Feb. 28 through April 24, from 3-5 pm. We will begin in the Nave with a time of prayer before moving into the Conference Room for teaching and discussion. For more information or to register for this series, please use a Connect Card or call Stephanie Toperzer in the Church Office at 772.562.8670.

Haiti Mission Team Leaves March 19
The mission team will return to Jacmel, Haiti, on March 19 and in one week will construct a permanent, covered pavilion for the school in Lavanneau. This shelter will provide relief from the sun during lunch and student assemblies. They need to purchase and transport a powerful generator, welding supplies, and construction materials. The original structure was erected in 2018, and last year's mission team readily decided to propose a new roof as part of the 2020 mission. If you wish to contribute to this project, please contact James Regan.
